Safety in Every Conversation: Reflections from the Wisconsin Safety Council Annual Conference and Expo

I had the opportunity to represent Training Tracker® at the Wisconsin Safety Council’s Annual Conference & Expo—a gathering of safety-minded professionals, solution providers, and industry leaders all focused on creating safer, healthier, and stronger workplaces.

From booth conversations to program summaries and the buzz from other vendors, it was clear that safety, communication, and continuous improvement were at the heart of every conversation happening across the show floor.

Setting Up & Showing Up

Our booth was all about making compliance approachable—and a little more fun. We even brought a selfie booth, which was a great icebreaker (and yes, I took a few pics to prove I made it out from behind my table!). While I stayed rooted in the expo area, I made it a point to connect with as many attendees and fellow exhibitors as possible. One of the best surprises of the expo was meeting a fellow exhibitor who introduced me to additional safety conferences in Minnesota and Michigan, hosted by the National Safety Association.

Given how many of our current customers are based in those areas, these events sound like a fantastic opportunity for even more in-person conversations and expanding our impact. (Stay tuned—you might be seeing us at more safety events soon!)

What the Agenda Revealed About Industry Priorities

Even though I couldn’t sit in on the talks, I went through the session descriptions and listened closely to what attendees were buzzing about.

Across the board, there were clear themes:

  • Fatigue and stress in safety-critical roles
  • The role of technology in modernizing training
  • Psychological safety and building a speak-up culture
  • How to reduce the cost of compliance without cutting corners
  • Shifting from reactive to proactive safety strategies

These topics aren’t just timely—they’re timeless. They speak directly to what we hear from Training Tracker users all the time: “We’re doing our best, but it’s hard to keep up.”

Looking Ahead

Overall, I left the Wisconsin Safety Council Expo feeling energized, connected, and incredibly grateful for the genuine conversations I had with attendees. There’s something special about being surrounded by people who are just as passionate about workplace safety and employee well-being as we are.
